FAQ
How are the Buy and Sell signals for commodities calculated?
Each signal is derived from a set of widely used technical indicators computed on live market prices. Moving averages (simple and exponential, across multiple periods) determine the trend component, while oscillators such as RSI, MACD and Stochastic measure momentum.Every indicator votes Buy, Sell or Neutral based on its own standard rules. The overall signal aggregates these votes: the more indicators agree, the stronger the overall rating — from Strong Sell through Neutral to Strong Buy.Signals are recalculated continuously from the latest available candles, so the page always reflects the current technical picture for the selected timeframe.
How often is the technical analysis data updated?
Signals are recomputed from live price data and cached for a short period (about a minute). The "Updated" indicator above the gauges shows exactly how fresh the data you are viewing is. When the market is closed, the latest available session data is shown.
What are pivot points and how should I use them?
Pivot points are price levels calculated from the previous period's high, low and close. Traders use them as potential support and resistance zones: prices trading above the pivot are considered bullish territory, below it bearish. We provide five common calculation methods — Classic, Fibonacci, Camarilla, Woodie and DeMark — each producing slightly different levels. Many traders combine pivot levels with the indicator signals above to time entries and exits.
Which timeframe should I look at?
It depends on your trading horizon. Intraday traders typically focus on the short timeframes (1min to 30min), swing traders on 1H and 4H, and position traders on the daily (1D) and weekly (1W) views.Signals on different timeframes can disagree — a commodity can be bullish on the daily chart while short-term momentum is bearish. Checking that several timeframes align is a common way to increase confidence in a setup.
What prices are these signals based on?
The analysis is computed on CFD (contract for difference) prices for the commodity, which track the underlying spot or front-month futures market. These are the same prices shown in the chart and quote header on this page.CFD prices can differ slightly from exchange-traded futures quotes due to funding and rollover adjustments, so signals here may occasionally differ from analysis computed directly on futures contracts.
