Chile posted a trade surplus of $1,877 million in March 2025, down from $2,104 million in the corresponding period last year and missing market forecasts of $1,950 million. Exports increased 8.87% year-on-year to $8,661 million, with stronger shipments of mining products (+15.63%) and manufactured goods (+12.4%), especially copper (+13.59%), offsetting a 31.3% drop in agricultural, forestry and fisheries exports. Meanwhile, imports increased 7.3% to $6,784 million, driven by higher demand for capital goods (+10.88%) and consumer goods (+12.61%) and intermediate goods (+3.04%)
