The annual inflation rate in Denmark rose to 2.3% in July 2025 from 1.9% in June. This marked the highest level since August 2023, driven mainly by higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages (6.5% vs 5.2% in June), housing and utilities (2.4% vs 1.8%), communication (3.8% vs 2.4%), and recreation and culture (4.2% vs 1.5%). On the other hand, price growth moderated for health (2.3% vs 2.9%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.6% vs 0.9%), and restaurants and hotels (0.1% vs 0.9%). Transport costs also decreased (-1.1% vs 0.1%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 1.5%, following a 0.2% rise in the previous month. Core inflation, which excludes energy and unprocessed food, climbed to 2.2% in July, the highest since January 2024, from 1.9% in the prior month.
