Consumer confidence in France rose to 90 in October 2025 from an upwardly revised 88 in September, marking the highest level since April and moving closer to the long-term average of 100. Households were less pessimistic about their financial outlook, with expectations improving to -11 from -14 in September and views on their past situation slightly better at -20 from -21. Saving sentiment also strengthened, as both current (23 vs 20) and expected (19 vs 17) saving capacity increased, while savings intentions reached a four-month high of 44. Meanwhile, major purchase intentions improved slightly (-29 vs -31), and unemployment prospects eased to 48 from 54, suggesting growing optimism in the job market. Perceptions of the past standard of living were steady at -72, while expectations for the future improved to -56 from -61. Price perceptions remained stable, with past consumer prices at -6 and future inflation unchanged at -32.
