India's infrastructure output expanded by 0.5% from the previous year in April of 2025, the least in eight months, to slow down from the upwardly revised 4.6% growth rate in the earlier month. The slowdown was weighed by a fresh decline in the production of fertilizers (-4.2% vs 8.8% in March) and refinery products (-4.5% vs 0.2%), in addition to a faster decline in crude oil (-2.8% vs -1.9%). In turn, output slowed for cement (6.7% vs 12.2%), steel (3% vs 9.3%) and electricity (1% vs 7.5%). On the other hand, a slower expansion was prevented by growth in coal (3.5% vs 1.6%).
