The unemployment rate in Italy rose to 6.2% in December 2024, the highest in five months and above market expectations of 5.7%. The number of unemployed individuals rose by 88,000 to 1,593,000 and the number of net employment increased by 4,000 to 24,065,000. The labor force participation rate edged up to 66.5% from 66.4%.
