Japão Machine Tool Orders

Japan’s machine tool orders advanced by 7.7% year-on-year to JPY 130,206 in April 2025, slowing from a 11.4% growth in the previous month. This marked the seventh consecutive month of rising machine tool orders albeit at a softer pace, mainly due to a drop of 5.4% from a year earlier in domestic demand to JPY 34,425. Meanwhile, foreign orders climbed by 13.3% to JPY 95,781. On a monthly basis, orders declined by 13.8% in April, reversing a 27.8% jump in the preceding period.
