Japão Machine Tool Orders

Japan’s machine tool orders rose by 9.9% year-on-year to JPY 137,780 million in September 2025, accelerating from an 8.1% advance in the previous month. This marked the highest level since March, driven by a 13.3% surge in foreign orders, which reached JPY 94,994 million. Additionally, domestic demand increased by a modest 3% from a year earlier to JPY 42,786 million. On a year-to-date basis, total machine tool orders were 5.8% higher compared to the same period a year ago, as 8.5% gain in foreign demand offset a 0.4% fall in domestic orders.
