Poland's trade deficit widened to €2.24 billion in December 2024, up from €1.16 billion in the same month last year, as exports fell 0.3% to €24.70 billion amid persistently weak demand from key trading partners. The decline was driven by lower sales in the transportation sector, particularly automotive parts, passenger cars, and delivery vehicles. Meanwhile, imports rose 3.9% to €26.94 billion, fueled by higher purchases of both new and used passenger cars. Imports of consumer goods and agricultural products also increased. Considering 2024 full year, Poland recorded a €6.81 billion gap, compared with a €4.72 billion surplus in 2023.
