Serbia’s trade deficit widened to USD 1,275 million in March 2025 from USD 760.3 million in the corresponding month of the previous year. Exports decreased by 2.6% year-on-year to USD 2,804 million, weighed down by lower sales of intermediate goods (-2.2%), capital goods (-4.5%), and unclassified by MIG destination (-2.7%). Meanwhile, imports rose by 16.8% from a year earlier to USD 4,079 million, primarily attributed to higher purchases of energy (59.2%), intermediate goods (1.2%), durable consumer goods (27.0%), non-durable consumer goods (40.8%), and unclassified by MIG destination (28.5%).
