Sweden’s trade surplus surged to SEK 11.6 billion in November 2025, more than doubling the SEK 5.2 billion recorded a year earlier, marking the largest surplus since June. Exports fell 5.5% year-on-year to SEK 173.7 billion, weighed down by lower sales to both the EU (-8.4% to SEK 94.8 billion) and non-EU countries (-1.9% to SEK 78.9 billion). Meanwhile, imports dropped at a faster 9.3% to SEK 162.1 billion, due to decreased purchases from non-EU countries (-12% to SEK 48.2 billion), while imports from the EU declined 8.1% to SEK 113.9 billion. From January to November, the cumulative trade surplus rose to SEK 68.7 billion, up from SEK 61.1 billion in the same period last year. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the November surplus increased to SEK 8.9 billion from SEK 7.4 billion in October.
