The annual core inflation rate in the United Kingdom rose by to 3.5% in January 2025, up from 3.2% in the previous month, marking the highest reading since April 2024 and matching market forecasts. The annual CPI services rate was notably higher (5.0% vs 4.4% in December), as did the annual CPI goods rate (1.0% vs 0.7%). On a monthly basis, core consumer prices declined by 0.4%, shifting from a 0.3% increase in December.
