Total average weekly earnings in the UK which includes bonuses rose 5.6% year-on-year to GBP 716 per week in the three months to February 2025, the same as a downwardly revised 5.6% in the previous period and slightly below forecasts of 5.7%. Wage growth eased in the private sector (5.6% vs 5.8%) but accelerated in the public sector (5.7%, the highest since the three months to May vs 5.2%). This follows the public sector pay rises now coming through in the 3-month growth rate. Adjusted for inflation, total earnings grew by 1.9%, the same as in the previous period.
