Estados Unidos Core Inflation Rate MoM

Core consumer prices in the US, which exclude food and energy, rose by 0.1% over a month in May of 2025, following a 0.2% increase in April and below the expected 0.3% advance. Indexes that increased over the month included medical care (+0.3%), motor vehicle insurance (+0.7%), household furnishings and operations (+0.3%), personal care +0.5%), and education (+0.3%). The indexes for airline fares (-2.7%), used cars and trucks (-0.5%), new vehicles (-0.3%), and apparel (-0.4%) were among the major indexes that decreased. On a yearly basis, core consumer prices rose by 2.8% in May, holding at 2021-lows, consistent with the previous two months and slightly under market expectations of 2.9%.
