Zambia’s economy expanded by 3.6% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025, easing from a 5.2% increase in the previous quarter and marking its slowest growth pace since Q2 2024. The moderation reflected softer contributions from several sectors, although activity continued to be supported by key industries. Growth was driven mainly by information and communication (2.5%), transportation and storage (1.0%), agriculture, forestry and fishing (1.0%), and construction (0.6%). In contrast, economic output contracted in wholesale and retail trade (-2.1%), financial and insurance activities (-0.3%), and other services (-0.2%).
