Others include: Transport (6 percent); Miscellaneous Goods and Services (5 percent) and Education (3 percent). Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, Recreation and Culture, Communications, Health and Restaurants and Hotels account for the remaining 5 percent of total weight. .

Zambia's annual inflation rate stood at an over three-year high of 16.7% in January 2025, unchanged from the prior month, as the ongoing depreciation of the kwacha showed signs of easing. Non-food inflation eased to 13.2%, down from 14.2% last month, while food prices accelerated to 19.2% from 18.6% in December. On a monthly basis, consumer prices surged by 2.1%, the sharpest rise in nearly a year, after a 1.2% rise in December.
