Zambia's annual inflation rate stood at an over three-year high of 16.7% in January 2025, unchanged from the prior month, as the ongoing depreciation of the kwacha showed signs of easing. Non-food inflation eased to 13.2%, down from 14.2% last month, while food prices accelerated to 19.2% from 18.6% in December. On a monthly basis, consumer prices surged by 2.1%, the sharpest rise in nearly a year, after a 1.2% rise in December.
